When I was backpacking in Rajasthan along with my good friend Prabhu  for the first time. After couple of days we were getting bored  seeing back to back palaces and museums. It was not the kind of photography I was  looking for. So we started inquiring about any nearby local fairs where we can find some different action. Within an hour we came to know there is a Urs going on near Naal few kilometers from Bikaner. For those who don’t know , Urs is a Muslim fair and in Rajasthan it is quite big. We rushed the very next morning to this place  on a packed autorikshaw . When we reached there the light was poetic. In couple of hours I was able to connect with the people and managed to enjoy a grand lunch in the same village as well! And it turned out to be one of the best Rajasthani lunch of my life! Before we left I had plenty of portraits and their little stories. I will share the story some other time but here are the portraits I shot. I took some really long time to choose the right treatment before I settled for grainy black and whites.
