Believe me , if I am on internet , there was never a day without reading /watching cartoons of this amazingly talented cartoonist Satish Acharya . His cartoons are something you start your day with like a cup of tea or a after breakfast vitamin pills !! I longed enough to meet him, told him many times that I am coming to see him, and then canceled due to unavoidable situations. This time I decided I will drive to him .When I told him again I was afraid how can one person be so patient with me . But ever smiling Satish welcomed me at his residence in Kundapur on that fine morning.
Surprisingly he kept ready my caricature which was really hilarious . I never ever thought a cartoon can be drawn out me . Here is that caricature which is a great honor to me.
I loved every bit of the one and half hour conversation we had and I know it was just a start. In between luckily I shot few frames of him with the available light . Here is one such frame I liked much.
I know we will meet again and have lot to talk.
Stish Acharya is a self taught artist , MBA holder and is a proud Kundapurian !! His passion for cartooning took a course change from MBA to professional cartooning . he worked as a freelance cartoonist for nearly ten years before working for Midday Mumbai for nine years. Now he recides in the lovely coastal town Kundapur and contributes to many clients all over the world like ESPNcricinfo, Sify.com , Metro India , Sports illustrated etc . You should really check out his works to get his sense of humor and the life he brings out of his characters. IMO the best Modi and Arvind cartoon is made by him only.
