quote-iconIndia, India, listen to my plea Sit here at your feet so patiently I'm waiting by the river but somewhere in my mind I left my heart in England with the girl I left behind

-John Lennon

John Lennon probably wrote the above song when sitting on the banks of river Ganga when The Beatles visited Rishikesh in India . With a little bit of study one can  realize many more such  ideas, poems, articles, articles must have taken a shape on the bank  of Ganga if he or she spends half an hour sitting or walking on river banks of Ganga in Rishikesh. Such is the magic of Rishikesh which attracted Sadhus, Intellectuals, philosophers, musicians, saints,  atheists, pandits, artists, musicians from the ages.

So I decided to stay at Rishikesh this time instead of Haridwar  which  has more religious environment.  I spent two evenings one is bright sunny and another is a  heavy rainy evening.

It was bright , sunny and scorching. After a chai and quick swim in the river the hot Rishikesh slowly calmed down. People started coming from nowhere and started walk on the new 3 kilometer walkway on the side. Nearby kids, workers all came to river and started swimming to cool off. All the famous Rishikesh animals also started running around the ghats while cows started taking rest . The new walkway looked so nice. It is well built and people are really using it to sit, chat , eat. I can see all kids of people right from Saints to women , kids and couples too!  I started clicking and clicked all the way till I reach the hotel room.

I just came back from spectacular Roopkund trek but I was exhausted . Weather report said it is going to rain so i went prepared. An eerie  set  of black clouds came from nowhere covering the entire Rishikesh. But there was still some space left for sun to pass his light which doubled the drama happening around. IT started raining and rained until the whole evening. It did not even stop for Ganga arti but priests finished the arti amidst the rain.
